Welcome
Located
on
16 scenic acres between the Catoctin and
Short Hill Mountains at the northern edge
of Loudoun Valley, the Lovettsville Union
Cemetery is the final resting-place for
more than 3700 people from Lovettsville,
surrounding communities and many distant
localities. Established in 1879 by Act of
the Virginia General Assembly, the
Lovettsville Union Cemetery Company
provides for the care and maintenance of
the estate, property and affairs of the
cemetery. The Company is
managed and controlled by a board of
trustees elected annually during lot owner
meetings. As a not-for-profit
organization, the Company has no paid
employees and is staffed and supported by
volunteers. Lot owners are encouraged to
attend annual meetings, participate in the
care and maintenance of their grave sites,
or become new trustees.
If you have loved ones at rest here, you
may honor them by supporting volunteer
activities or by contributing year-round
support for the ongoing care,
maintenance, and preservation of the
cemetery by using this link:

Our annual Volunteer Spring Cleanup is Saturday April 11 at 9 AM. Please join us! We rely on volunteers like you to help us preserve and keep our cemetery beautiful. Like past years, this event involves some light yard work, like raking, bagging debris, and general cleanup. If you can make it, please wear clothing for yard work, shoes suitable for walking in damp grass, as well as garden/yard gloves. If you have a rake, it’s helpful to bring it, but not necessary. We will gather in front of the LUC building, assemble into small groups, and start off at 9. We hope you can participate. Feel free to email, text, or call me with any questions.
